Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps is looking to fill an open position for an Executive Director. Job Description: Executive Director POSITION OVERVIEW: The Buffalo Civic Auto Ramps (“BCAR”) seeks a “hands-on” leader who is innovative and entrepreneurial to oversee the daily operations of the corporation and the future strategic plan. PURPOSE: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the corporation by executing short/long term goals, implementing policies, managing all BCAR employees and operations, provides leadership and management of planning, organizing, direction, and control functions of the corporation. POSITION DESCRIPTION: • Harmoniously unite the major functions of the business, run the organization, and manage the day-to-day operations • Recommends policy initiatives to the Board of Directors concerning parking rates, staffing, revenue control equipment/software, information technology, facility repairs, and capital improvements, operating and capital budgeting and operations, among other responsibilities • Negotiates and executes contracts/leases with the City of Buffalo, tenants, and outside agencies • Oversight of all Human Resources related functions, assigns specific duties and special projects, initiates, reviews, and maintains all personnel policies and procedures • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff members, community and elected officials and regulatory agencies • Analyze current and future business plans, essential data, and prepares reports and or recommendations • Performs various other duties required for the successful implementation of Board policies and to increase effectiveness and efficiency of operations QUALIFICATIONS: • Innovative, dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset • Minimum 5 to 10 years of senior management/executive experience preferably in the parking and or transportation field • Must have strong communication, critical thinking, and qualitative skills • Must have the ability to work in a complex environment • Must have experience managing a diverse workforce • Must have fiscal management and performance-based budgeting experience EDUCATION: • Bachelors’ degree in Administration, Business, Urban Planning, Finance, or related field required • Master’s Degree in related field preferred KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Thorough knowledge of pertinent statutes, laws, regulations, and ordinances • Knowledge of transportation policy and procedures • (covered above)Knowledge of office practices, procedures and records maintenance • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time • Successful demonstration of the following competencies: cultural competence, inclusivity, job knowledge, productivity, quality of work, adaptability/flexibility, communication, and customer focus To Apply: Send resume and cover letter to careers@bcarparking.com along with salary expectations.
